Our Ethos

At Fizzy Fish Swimmers, our aim is to teach children to swim confidently and safely, giving you peace of mind that your child is safe in the water.

From our structured pool lessons covering the Swim England Learn to Swim Framework 1-7 and Water Safety Awards, we will be teaching your children the core skills and knowledge to safely and respectfully swim in Guernsey’s beautiful waters. 

We also hope that by fostering a love and appreciation of swimming your children will develop their social skills by exploring many fun water sports.

Our lessons are for primary aged children and are capped at a 5:1 student/instructor ratio.  Our small classes are tailored to each child’s ability and are held in a calm, supporting environment with dedicated instructors.

At Fizzy Fish Swimmers, we believe that learning to swim is about more than just technique it’s about building confidence, celebrating achievements and enjoying the journey. Our lessons are designed to encourage and support every swimmer, whether they’re overcoming fears, developing new skills, or simply having fun in the water. Here’s how we make every swim session a rewarding experience!

Praise

Throughout our lessons we give positive and constructive feedback.  We also award swimmers who have overcome particular fears or areas they find challenging with WOW stickers.

Skills

As part of the Learn to Swim programme we incorporate the core aquatic skills which are required for water safety, stroke development and progression which could then lead to an interest in other water sports.

Health & Wellbeing

Our lessons are nurturing, fun, stimulating and age appropriate.  By taking part in our lessons your child  will develop the knowledge of the importance of exercise and the positive impact on their health and happiness.

Achievements

We follow the Swim England Learn to Swim programme up to stage 7 incorporating the Water Safety Awards.  Once swimmers have gained a distance and/or Learn to Swim Stage they will be awarded with a certificate and badge.

Social

Within our relaxed and small groups it is an opportunity for swimmers to mix with others and learn the importance of socialising whilst exercising and having fun!

As a seasoned triathlete I love swimming, whether in a pool or in open water and living on an island being a Mum of two children who also love the water, many times have been spent surfing and sea swimming together. All of this has given me a passion to teach children to swim… learning how to be safe in water is one of the most important skills our children need.

My love for teaching swimming started 29 years ago. Throughout these years I have also enjoyed  teaching my children to swim and I am looking forward to many more years with Fizzy Fish Swimmers.  Over recent years I have competed in open water swimming events and I love regular pool swim sessions. I can’t wait to be able to help your children love the water and learn to swim.

I teach at Les Beaucamps Pool on Saturdays. I enjoy swimming in the pool & open water and I am a passionate swim instructor.  I compete in open water swimming events and enjoy regular pool swim sessions. I am a mum of one and we enjoy the world of swimming together and as a family we enjoy the surf and open water on the beautiful beaches surrounding our island!

Holly and Stella have always struggled with extra curricular activities and have often resisted going.
